                About these figures

                • Great Britain only. Northern Ireland runs its own MOT system. Cars are first tested at 3 years old, so newer cars aren't here.
                • Each test is a car's first test of a visit. Retests after a fail aren't counted again, and abandoned tests are left out. "Fixed within the hour" means it failed, but was put right at the test centre within an hour.
                • Postcode area is where the car was tested, not where it's kept.
